SwapX is a fin-tech startup with a clear mission: to create the most cost-effective travel money system available. Their vision was to develop a consumer travel card that could be used worldwide, enabling travellers to seamlessly SWAP and SEND money in multiple currencies at the genuine exchange rate.
Goals and Challenges
Understanding SwapX’s API and third-party frameworks was essential in designing the final output they desired. LTI took on the task of building the Apps and the website from scratch, beginning with detailed UI designs. Developing APIs, ensuring robust security measures for both the App and web portal, and implementing a reliable system to track user transactions were integral parts of this project.

SwapX approached LTI with an initial prototype of their sophisticated currency platform. They needed a website and two apps that would allow travellers to easily exchange their local currency for foreign currencies. The challenge was complex, but LTI embraced the opportunity to bring their vision to life.
Sophisticated App Features
SwapX offers its users a travel card that functions wherever MasterCard Debit cards are accepted. The app provides several valuable features, including real-time spending tracking, expenditure categorization, individual balance alerts, and the SWAPNOW function in the Global SWAPX Exchange. This feature allows users to automatically swap funds into the currency they need at a fraction of the cost charged by traditional banks.
Gaining Trust and Recognition
Earning the trust of the public was vital for the success of the project. With LTI’s support, SwapX managed to launch an exceptional product that garnered significant attention. As a result, they attracted a large user base and secured additional investments from enthusiastic investors. The project also received approval from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and is now exploring opportunities in blockchain transactions.
