FAQ.
Everything we can say publicly about how we work, what we do, and how we engage.
What is Love the Idea®?
Love The Idea® is a principal-led digital observatory focused on long-horizon technology, infrastructure, and ownership. We study how humanity builds, inherits, and maintains systems over time — then selectively build companies around the problems we find.
Are you a fund, VC, or asset manager?
No. Love The Idea® does not manage external capital, raise funds, or operate on a deployment mandate.
Do you invest in startups?
Occasionally, and selectively. Engagement is driven by long-term alignment rather than deal flow, velocity, or portfolio construction.
What stages do you engage at?
There is no fixed stage preference. We are more concerned with durability, regulatory context, and ownership structure than growth phase.
Do you lead or participate in rounds?
There is no standard approach. When we engage, terms and structure reflect long-term ownership rather than transaction optimisation.
Do you provide advisory or consulting services?
No. Love The Idea® is not a consultancy.
Can founders pitch you?
We have no official process for reviewing or accepting cold pitches. Where engagement occurs, it typically follows extended observation or trusted introduction.
What sectors are you most interested in?
Our focus areas include software, technology infrastructure, artificial intelligence, regulation and permission, the built environment, aviation and autonomous systems, and ownership and governance.
How do you make decisions?
Decisions follow extended observation, contextual analysis, and reflection. Action is taken selectively and without external time pressure.
How long do you typically hold assets?
We do not operate with predefined exit timelines. Ownership duration is determined by alignment and long-term relevance.
Do you co-invest or partner with others?
Occasionally. Partnerships are rare and based on shared time horizons and decision-making principles.
Are you UK-focused?
Our roots are in the UK, but our interests are not geographically constrained where regulatory and structural understanding exists.
