Learning Curve Group (LCG) is dedicated to providing support and guidance to learners and those who may feel vulnerable. Utilizing technology, LCG has developed an app that houses important support helplines to offer a high level of learning support and ensure that anyone with concerns or vulnerabilities is acknowledged and assisted.
Collaboration between LCG and LTI teams resulted in an adaptable and ideal mobile and admin panel solution, allowing for multiple installations of the app. Through multiple meetings, the complexities of the new app framework were carefully detailed, documented, and addressed.
The primary goal was to create an app tailored to students at a specific university, granting them access to essential helplines and guidance. This app could be downloaded and installed on multiple devices, with the added functionality of SMS capability.
As part of the project, the app was integrated with SMS Messaging, enabling students to report incidents swiftly. Once an incident is reported, the app sends an immediate text message to a designated Health Safeguard officer, who can promptly offer assistance to those in need.
Upon downloading the app, students can sign in to access the reports they’ve submitted. Additionally, they can read blogs offering guidance on overcoming various challenges and find contact information for various charitable organizations.
The successful launch of the finished app proved its usefulness, leading to its implementation across various universities in the UK. It is now offered to students who may feel threatened on campus, enabling direct contact with a designated safeguard officer through SMS messaging to facilitate support.
Learning Curve Group remains committed to leveraging technology for the well-being and support of learners, making a positive impact on individuals’ lives across educational institutions in the UK.
